Hematological and Biochemical Changes in Cattle and Buffaloes Suffering from Trumatic Reticuloperitonitis (TRP) and Trumatic Pericarditis (TP)

Abstract

Ingestion of sharp foreign bodies is a serious problem in large ruminants especially in developing countries where
the standard of animal management is sublevel. This study was carried out on 22 cattle (8 TRP and 14 TP), 18
buffalo (12 TRP and 6 TP), and 5 control from each species. The results revealed hyper fibrinogenemia, increase in
AST level, and slight increase in total proteins, hypoalbumnemia decrease in calcium and in organic phosphorus,
erythrocytopenia, low Hb concentration and leukocytosis than the control group.
